& gift vouchers in a stunning location. Site provided by Scottish Art Circle In Blairmore, a short run from Dunoon along the scenic coastal road around the Holy Loch, Gallimaufry Gallery stands proud in the heart of the village. Gallimaufry New owners, New look Sylvia & husband Steve have taken over the Gallery and have carried out a refurbishment to make it more spacious , and give more wall space to better display the great art on show. The Gallery has been awarded 3 *** by Visit Scotland as an Arts Venue to reflect the quality of the venue, Art, Craft, and service. The gallery, the largest in Cowal, with its plethora of arts and crafts, enjoys stunning views across Loch Long. Most of the work is by skilled artists and crafters based in Cowal, an inspirational paradise. We feature work by other Scottish artists to offer the visitor real choice. Solo Exhibitions A separate room hosts Solo or joint exhibitions, which change every 4 or 5 weeks. A balance is achieved by inviting well know artists from out with the area such as Davy Brown & John Damari to exhibit, whilst artists based locally such as David Morrison, Ronnie Ford, Pam Glennie, and Brian Phillips also have solo shows ... see list of our 2008 exhibitions Much of the high class original art is available as prints or cards. Coffee Shop The Coffee Shop compliments the Art ... good quality. We use Fairtrade coffee beans, tea, and sugar. There is fresh home baking daily, as well as light meals, muffins, and indulgent desserts. How about a Cappuccino, Latte or Earl Grey whilst pondering that purchase or talking about art with the local artists who drop in on a regular basis? Popular with locals and visitors to the area - the combination of art and coffee allows visitors and locals alike to enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in the gallery. Art & Craft Classes Tutors include James O’Neill, who guides pupils through the crafting of their own design pewter mirror frames, and William Williamson whose classes produce stunning effects in Raku pottery. Other classes include felt making, rag wool art, watercolour, acrylic and pastel painting etc. Open daily 5th March until Christmas, please check our website at www.blairemoregallery.com for winter opening hours.
