John Wetten Brown John Wetten Brown, born in Glasgow and now living in the Westend, is originally a restoration architect who has now graduated to art. From restoring Scotland's ancient monuments he is now painting some of her most interesting treasures.
His subjects range from historic fishing villages like Crail and Pittenweem to the landscapes of Mull, Skye and Sutherland. The style of painting is perspectively challenged. This may be a reaction against drawing straight lines on a drawing board - judge for yourself. John's first solo exhibition took place in Glasgow's Westend in 2001 where most of the paintings were sold within the first week. This show generated interest enough to ensure a wider audience and his work is now on show in many galleries throughout the country. He has also had a number of successful solo exhibitions through the years. John has work in private collections in the USA and Canada, Japan, Germany and England.
